"It's a wrap!" - chapter 10

WEEK TWENTYTWO
I’m at the airport in Toronto. We’ve wrapped the first episode of season five and I’m on my way to LA. I can’t wait to see Meg and the kids again. I miss them a lot and I’m impatient to get home. To be honest I’m a way less enthusiastic about our new scheduling now than I was when I agreed to it.  Two weeks is a long time to be separated from my family, but at least I’ve got a whole week at home with them to look forward to.

Hi from Mille! :)

It's been a long time since I regularly updated this blog and I'm so sorry for that.  There are several reasons for the lack of updates, the main one is that I've had a tough time personally and I've had a lot to deal with over the few months.  I just haven't had the energy to write and keep up the blog. Thankfully things are looking up and I've got inspiration to write again.

I've got ideas for both "Jenna & Luke 2.0" and "The Outsiders" and rough drafts of new chapters for those stories are in the works. I've also got a few ideas for "Finding Unexpected Love".

I've also in touch with Maddie and Cathy. They've both struggled with writers blocks and they've been busy with school and work, but they promise me there will be more material from them soon.  Maddie is working on chapter 10 of "It's a Wrap" and hopes to finish it by the end of the week.  Cathy has decided to totally re-write "Every Breath I Take" because she has discovered many medical inaccuracies as she has done further research on respiratory disabilities and being ventilator dependent. The first chapter should be ready for posting soon.

Thanks for you patience and I hope there still are people following the blog. :)

Jenna & Luke 2 .0 - Chapter 5

Just as Luke heard the front door open and close an unpleasant smell hit his nose. “Damn it,” he thought. “Could that bowel accident have come at a worse time?”  He was well aware that Harry wouldn’t be back until 10 pm, when his shift was scheduled to start, and with Kevin out of town he really only had no choice. He had to ask Jenna to change him, sitting in a messy diaper for over four hours wasn’t an option.  The smell was unpleasant and it was very bad for his already fragile skin. He let out a slow, calming breath as he heard Jenna’s footsteps approaching. A moment later she stepped in and immediately walked around the bed and kissed him on the lips.
“Hey babe,” she said with a smile when she pulled away. “How are you feeling?”
“Well, the headache is gone and generally I feel better than I did this morning. Won’t know for sure how the neck is until I’m back in my chair. It generally doesn’t bother me when I’m laying down.”
“Well, are you ready to get up?”
“Yep, but…” Luke’s voice trailed off with embarrassment and he felt a blush creeping up his neck and cheeks.”
“What?”
“I…eh…I had an accident and need my diaper changed. I hate to ask you to do this, but I don’t see another option right now. I’m sorry.” Luke averted his glance; he was too embarrassed to look Jenna in the eyes.

New chapter of "The Outsiders" posted on Paradevo!

Completely forgot to post the link here when I put the chapter up a couple of weeks ago.

Here's chapter 12 of "The Outsiders".

I really hope to have chapters for the stories on the blog soon. Maddie and Cathy are both working on updates for their stories and have promised to try to get them to me soon.  I've actually got ideas for both "The Store Manager" and "Jenna & Luke 2.0". Just have to find the time to write them down... Fortunately things are slowing down at work and I think I'll have more time to write in the coming weeks. #FingersCrossed as we say on Twitter. ;-)

"It's A Wrap!" - chapter 9

WEEK TWENTY
It’s Monday morning and although I should get my ass out of bed I just lay here, lost in thought. Meg got up a while ago and is downstairs in the kitchen feeding the kids breakfast and getting them ready for school. I should be helping her since I leave in a few days and will be away for two weeks.

"It's A Wrap!" - Chapter 8

Here's chapter 8 of "It's A Wrap!" Maddie apologizes for the two week wait for it and says she hopes to have the next one finished a bit quicker, but no promises as she is going away next week and probably won't have much time to write.
WEEK EIGHTEEN
“I can’t believe it’s just two weeks ‘till you go back to work,” Meg says as we’re getting ready for bed Wednesday evening.
“I know. Time’s flying by fast. In a way it feels like we wrapped season four yesterday, but at the same time it feels like it was a lifetime ago.”
“I know. It’s weird, isn’t it?” Meg says as she climbs into bed while I wheel around it and position my chair and get ready to transfer to bed.
Transfers have become second nature to me and it’s something I do without putting much thought into. I’m glad I was in great shape before my accident; it has made my recovery much easier than it would’ve been if I had to start from scratch with building upper body strength. It doesn’t take me long to get settled into bed and Meg curls up next to me and we pick up the conversation.

"It's A Wrap!" - Chapter 7

Here's chapter 7 of "It's A Wrap!".  Maddie says she's working on chapter 8 and hopes to have something for us within the next week.  I can't wait to read it!! :-)

WEEK SIXTEEN
Today is Wednesday and it’s a big day. Joel is finally moving into the guesthouse. He was declared medically stable and ready for discharge about a month ago, but getting everything ready for him to actually leave the rehab center has been a long process. The biggest challenge was hiring a staff of PCA’s to do his care 24/7. Joel insisted that I took part in the interview process since they’ll be working on my property and it took us a while to find a group of 12 people we’re both comfortable with.  It has also taken Joel’s insurance company a while to get all the needed equipment ready; I hadn’t realized just how much medical equipment a vent dependent quad needs. I think the stuff in the closet in Joel’s bedroom is enough for a small hospital.

"It's a Wrap!" - chapter 6

Maddie just sent me chapter 6 of her story. She says she's on a roll and hope to send me weekly updates from now on.  I'm glad her muse is more cooperative than mine.
Enjoy!

"It's a Wrap!" - chapter 5

Hooray! I just got chapter 5 of "It's a Wrap" from Maddie. She apologizes for her absence and promises she'll do her best to post new chapters on a regular basis as things are settling down in her personal life.
. . .
WEEK TEN
The weekend at home was a success and today, Friday, I’m going home permanently.  I’ll do the last three weeks of my rehab program as an outpatient.  I’m really excited that I’m getting out of the rehab center.  Life is getting back to normal and it feels good.
The thing I’m most nervous about at the moment is the press conference on Monday. We still haven’t revealed the fate of ‘Dean & Dad’, but now it’s time. It’ll be the first time I face the press and public in a wheelchair and I wonder how it will turn out. Before I can think more about it a familiar, excited squeal from the doorway demands my attention.

A message from Cathy to the readers of "Every Breath I Take"

First of all; I'm thankful that so many are reading my little story. Mille has been keeping me up to date on the story's statistics since I started posting it and I've been blown away pretty much from the beginning.

I know you're waiting for a new chapter and I'm very sorry for keeping you waiting. The classes I'm taking this semester have turned out to be extremely demanding and my studies is my main priority. The only writing I've been able to do for the past month and a half is school work.  I hope things settle down so I can start working on my story again. I really enjoy that, but just don't have the time right now.

Another thing; as I've written the story I've been doing research on respiratory disabilities and ventilator dependency.  I realize I've made some mistakes, especially in the early chapters, and it bothers me. I'm considering re-writing what I've written so far for two reasons: First to fix the mistakes/inaccuracies and second because some chapters are rough and need to be cleaned up. What do you, my readers, think?

There will be more chapters - thank you for having patience with me.

-Cathy

Note from Mille:
I've been trying to get a hold of Maddie. I haven't heard from her since she sent me chapter 4 of "It's a Wrap" and she's not responding to my emails. I hope she's okay and that she'll continue her story at some point.

As for my stories. I feel horrible not updating regularly, but I just have so much going on in my life. Work, travel, personal issues...the list is long. I am working on a new chapter of "The Outsiders", but it's s progressing very slowly and I'm not sure when it'll be ready to publish.

"Every Breath I Take" - chapter 14

"It's short. It's rough. But it's a chapter and I'm working on more for you." - Cathy
Without further ado; here's chapter 14 for you. Enjoy!
Remember: Josh's condition is fictional and I take no responsibility for the medical accuracy. Cathy assures me she has done her research.

"Every Breath I Take" - chapter 13

Cathy just sent me a new chapter of her story - and told me to assure you the next one is in the works and she hopes to publish it before Christmas.
Maddie apologizes for the long wait for a new chapter of "It's a Wrap". She works in retail and this is a very busy time for her at work, so she has very limited time to write these days.  She'll probably not be able to post more before after Christmas.
I posted a new chapter of "The Outsiders" on Paradevo today - head over there and check it out after you've finished chapter 13 of "Every Breath I Take".

'Every Breath I Take' - Chapter 12

Cathy just sent me chapter 12 of 'Every Breath I Take'. Hope you enjoy it. :-)
As always; Josh's condition is fictional, a figment of Cathy's imagination. She assures me she has done some research and is trying to get all the tracheostomy and ventilator stuff as accurate as possible. I take no responsibility for things being accurate.

"It's a Wrap!" - Chapter 4

Here's a new chapter of "It's a Wrap!"- hope you enjoy it!
Cathy has told me to let you know that she hasn't fallen off the surface of the earth and that she is still working on "Every Breath I Take". She's just really busy these days, she's cramming for her fall finals.  She hopes to have a new chapter for us soon and has promised me that she'll try to do more regular updates after she's done with her exams and things get less hectic for her.
As for me and my stories; my muse is very uncooperative and I'm extremely busy. Hope rings slow down and my muse gets more co-operative soon.

'It's a Wrap!' - Chapter 3

Here's a new chapter of 'It's a Wrap!'.  Enjoy!
Cathy has promised me a new chapter of 'Every Breath I Take' very soon and I'm working on my stories as well. Just wish my muse was more cooperative.
Well, it's late here and I just wanted to get this up before I went to bed.

"Jenna & Luke 2 .0" - Chapter 4

Jenna heard her landline phone ringing through the front door and hurried inside. She dumped the bag of groceries she was carrying on the floor next to the table in the hallway and grabbed the handset without checking the caller ID.
“Hello,” she answered the phone, slightly out of breath.
“Hey sis, been out running?” It was her younger sister Joanna.
“Hi Jo. No, I just got home and heard the phone through the front door. I rushed to answer before you hung up.”
“Ah, I see. How are you? I haven’t heard from you since Dad’s birthday a few weeks back.”
“I’m very good, how ‘bout you and Shannon? How’s business?”
“We’re both good, so is the business. How’s your business going?”
“Still kinda’ slow, but things have been picking up lately. A couple of Sarah’s connections have proved themselves useful. I hope it continues.”
“Glad to hear it. I know you took a chance when you moved out there and threw everything into this.”
“So far it has been very worth it,” Jenna answered, a smile evident in her voice.
“Who is he?”

"Every Breath I Take" - Chapter 11

Here's chapter 11 of "Every Breath I Take".  Cathy says it's a bit rough, but she wanted to get it posted today since the wait has been long. She might edit it later.
I'm almost done with a new chapter of "Jenna & Luke 2.0" and I'm well underway on a brand new chapter of "The Outsiders".
Maggie is working on chapter 3 of "It's a wrap!" and hopes to have it ready to post sometime soon.
Lots of good stuff to look forward to :)

"It's a wrap!" - Chapter 2

Here's a new chapter of it's a wrap that Maddie just sent me. She told me to let you know she intends on posting a new chapter every two weeks or so.
I also got an email fra Cathy; she apologizes for the long wait for a new chapter in "Every Breath I Take", but she has been sick for the past couple of weeks and haven't had the energy to write. She's feeling better and is working on a new chapter.
As for me; I'm working on a new chapter of "Jenna & Luke 2.0". Hope to have it ready for posting sometime next week.
Have a great Sunday! :-)

New story!! "It's a Wrap!"

I'm happy to introduce another guest author; Maddie.  I love the premise of her story and I'm very excited to see where she'll take this. I feel it's very unique.

Christian Ramsay is a successful actor.  He's the star of the TV-series 'Dean & Dad' that has just been renewed for a fifth season. He's happily married to Meagan and dad to Jayden (11) and Jacklyn (8).  He has also just broken his back in a mountain biking accident and is facing a future in a wheelchair, as a T-10/11 paraplegic.  Will he be able to return to work? How will his fans react? And how will the Ramsay family deal with it all?

"Every Breath I Take" chapter 10

Here's chapter 10 of "Every Breath I Take". Cathy hopes to have chapter 11 ready this coming weekend.
As usual: Josh's conditon is fictional and I take no responsibility for the medical accuracy of the story. I trust Cathy has done some research to get it right.
